9/25-9/26 Formula Drift Vegas Preview

Wow! Has it been 14 years since Formula Drift previously raced here in Vegas? I’ve moved here back in 2016 and I don’t even recall the last time I’ve been to Formula Drift (might have been back in 2019 when it was held in Irwindale) as that was the closest to Vegas. So when I heard FD is returning here, I’m there!
This year I’ve decided PHM will go all out and get a 10×20 booth along with 10×10 trackside tent. I drove the PHM support vehicle there Thursday morning for setup hoping to go back and grab my bike. Sadly things got a bit hectic once I got there as I had a tough time finding out where the booth is at.

Friday was one hectic and long day as that morning I needed to head to the airport to pick up Amanda Terry on my way to the event, yes can you believe I’ve got Amanda Terry to join us for this event?? I’m still pitching myself if this is a dream or not. If you’re not familiar who’s Amanda Terry, she is a celebrity makeup artist, hair stylist, actress, model, host, and podcaster.
Everything was still going smooth at this point even though I was running around the venue like a headless chicken trying to get everyone into the event. This is a HUGE venue so there’s a lot of walking between the booth, towards Will Call and back, or back to the vendors entrance behind the paddock area.

You’ll notice we’re missing one of the 10×10 tent above, so what happened?? Gusty winds.. that and someone removed the weights without saying anything… Granted, they weren’t our weights to begin with but still.. say something you know so I can try and find alternative solution. Anyway, that gust of wind was unexpected and it only took 2 seconds to flip both tents over. Sadly my reaction time is not FLASH so up and over they go (Yes they went OVER the fence). Luckily no drift cars were there can you imagine the tents damaging their vehicles?? Good lord I don’t think my insurance will cover that!

As we wrap up Formula Drift Las Vegas, note that FD has signed a brand new 3-year contract hosting events at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway till at least 2028. We’re looking forward to next year’s FD Las Vegas already. Till then, check back here for more photos and video. If you missed FD Vegas, there’s a final event coming up Oct 23-24 at Long Beach, CA.
